Chaplain MeLisa Floryance, MA, BCC-Ret.
Chaplain MeLisa Floryance, MA, BCC-Ret. is a trauma-informed spiritual guide. She journeys with many individuals experiencing challenges related to grief, loss, and substance abuse.
She earned a Master of Arts in Ministry from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI, a Certificate in Trauma Counseling and Psychological First Aid from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, and Board Certification as a Chaplain with the National Association of Catholic Chaplains.
For many years, Chaplain Floryance faithfully served thousands of patients, families, and staff across medical institutions throughout southeastern Wisconsin.
However, following the line-of-duty-death of her husband, HEO/Paramedic Joseph Floryance in 2012, she experienced a spiritual dark night of the soul, leading to a life mired in hopelessness, worthlessness, and utter despair.
Gratefully, in 2016, Chaplain MeLisa experienced a total surrender and started trudging the road to happy destiny in the fellowship of the spirit. She rediscovered her call as a loving Wounded Healer in the spirit of Henri Nouwen.
